Crystal and gladiolus, bathrobes and running water at the Grand Hotel, how delightful! I feel energized by the university life around this town, a new year beginning, the beautiful young people breezing past on bicycles, or walking with their artwork or a load of books or even a secondhand table.
U. and I lock horns all the time. I am not sure how this tone was set so firmly and wish it could be reset. Evenings we are reading a graphic novel about Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller, however, and their much lonelier and more violent battle to connect soothes us both.
