It’s nice to sit in the kitchen after the girls are in bed and listen to the home team start the World Series on KMOX radio. The broadcaster voice doesn’t seem to have changed in twenty years. I also hear dry leaves blowing around on the dark street outside, and the very comforting thump thump of a dryer in the laundry room. Yes, a dryer! I love how long a memory the sport of baseball has, how the radio voice recalls scores from fifty years ago, with reverence.
